The Gula Java from Amanprana is certified organic coconut blossom sugar from Java. Gula Java coconut blossom sugar can be used to replace any other kind of sugar. You can use it in your tea and coffee, use it to bake with, to add to your cocktails and to add a finishing touch to your dishes. Thanks to its soft caramel flavour its ideal as a snack as well.
Coconut blossom sugar (GI 35) has a lower glycemic index than regular sugar (GI 70), which means that your blood sugar is better left alone. The carbohydrates in coconut blossom sugar are broken down slowly, gradually releasing their glucose into the blood, and coconut blossom sugar is unrefined. This sugar is therefore not processed. This preserves all healthy vitamins, minerals and fibers.

I prefer to try sweetening recipes with fruit sugars, for example by using dates or bananas, but sometimes a pastry or muffin really lacks sweetness.
