My 18th marathon (in 10 years) was all about replacing the commercial gels (consisting mainly of glucose and fructose) with a combination drink of coconut blossom nectar and ground green tea leaf – Gula Java Matcha – to get through this 42km 195m unscathed. come. Result: The Zeeland Marathon in 3h 54′. Gula Java Matcha has therefore not missed its effect as a ‘super energy drink’! Since this is a very long effort, the focus is on endurance (isotonic energy supply by the carbohydrates present). An addition of a little Fleur de Sel and the use of coconut water can make this super sports drink even more balanced. The healthy performance drink Gula Java Matcha can perfectly be replaced by Gula Java Cacao, but I prefer this more at a lower temperature.
