About climate change and its impact on our oceans.
Climate-change activists march through the streets, bunking classes for our future’s sake.
Bunking classes in many cities in Europe
Act now or perish later
The climate is changing, why don’t we?
“We deserve a green planet, a safe future, and politicians who take responsibility for taking measures to combat global warming and as a young generationwe will continue to fight for this”
Anuna De Wever, 17-year-old Belgian climate activist from Mortsel.
When leaders behave like children, the children become leaders.
climate action: bunking classes with Greta Thunberg and Anuna De Wever against climate change
In Rome in April 2019, 25 thousand people demonsrated for fighting climate change. Anuna addressed the crowd with the words of Martin Luther King: “I told people it is important that we keep going. That is also the message I have for the young people in Belgium that we must continue until the elections.”

The importance of the ocean for the global climate cannot be underestimated. It absorbs a significant part of the carbon and an overwhelming part of the excess heat. However, a warmer atmosphere and increasing concentration of greenhouse gases exert enormous pressure on the ocean’s ability to regulate climate.
The oceans and waters along our coasts are losing their oxygen.
The oceans and waters along our coasts are losing their oxygen. 11 things you should know:
Oxygen is very critical for the oceans for its plant and animal life.
Since 1960, the ocean surface that has become low in oxygen increased by 4.5 million km².
Humans are the biggest cause of the decrease in oxygen in the oceans. Burning of fossil fuel, depositing of human waste, industrial pollution and pollution from agriculture. The result is more nitrogen, more phosphorus and less oxygen in the oceans.
Less oxygen means reduced growth, increased number of diseases, change in behavior and the death of ocean life.
Global warming uses oxygen from the oceans.
Farmed fish pollute the coastal waters and contribute significantly to lessening of oxygen in the coastal waters.
Fish with fins and shellfish in particular are extremely sensitive to reduced oxygen in the oceans.
Reduced oxygen in the oceans in turn contributes to global warming.
In the 21st century, greenhouse gases will heat up the oceans and the earth and result in even less oxygen.
The oceans are not affected by reduced oxygen alone.. The oceans are also affected by overfishing, destruction of natural habitats, acidification due to human population growth, etc..
Steps to improve the breathing of the oceans will affect the human population.
